The Wednesday Club

This Club meets on the afternoon of the first Wednesday of each month (except January) in the Village Hall at 2.00 p.m.  It is an essential organisation of Brockham for the over 60's and the membership at present stands at 60 with up to 50 members regularly attending the meetings.

It has been running for over 50 years and a properly constituted committee is elected each year to ensure the Club's programmes are conducted in a correct manner.  Speakers on a variety of subjects or musical entertainment are provided each month and members have the opportunity to socialise over a cup of tea and biscuits, and enter into the monthly raffle.

The Club's birthday celebration is held in May and a Christmas Lunch is especially arranged with outside caterers in December.  There are 7 coach outings from April to October.  The destinations include 2 Mystery Trips and other venues are chosen by members which usually include the coast and places of interest.  Places to go to are chosen within a 60 miles radius.

Each member receives a Greeting card on his or her birthday and a get well card if unfortunately ill.

The Wednesday Club is undoubtedly, a valuable asset to the village of Brockham.
