Another great bonfire night
Saturday 6th November saw another great bonfire and
firework display, this year the weather was kind to us with a clear
but cold night.

Volunteers had been working hard to create a truly spectacular
bonfire which was lit by a procession of people carrying torches.
When the flames reached the top of the bonfire a long succession of
fire crackers could be heard and the guy stared to burn.
Tony Hines compered the evening and read out a list of bonfire
family and friends who kindly sponsored the fireworks. The crowd
were treated to a staggering £50,000 worth of fireworks which
lasted around 15 minutes.

Catering stalls served hot dogs and burgers to the hungry crowd
and the pig roast was a great success with the pig being roasted
for a crackling 12 hours.

The next day all that was left was the remnants of the bonfire.
The litter pickers performed a wonderful job, the fencing and
barriers had all been dismantled and cleared away.
Once again a tremendous effort from the bonfire boys and girls
who made this an enjoyable evening that will provide much
needed funding for local organisations and charities.
