BROCKHAM KIDS ARE UNBEATABLE YET AGAIN RAISING £500 IN AID
OF THE NSPCC's CHILDLINE THE FIFTH BROCKHAM BIKE
RIDE 27 JUNE 2010
This will pay for 120 very distressed children to make that all
important call to Childline to get the help they need; sometimes on
the brink of suicide as a result of bullying.
A total of 44 riders, many 5 year veterans, braved the very hot
weather and safely enjoyed the familiar 2 mile off road circuit up
The Coach Road and back on the A25 shared path or the 5 mile
circuit; Old School Lane, Gadbrook Cross Roads, Betchworth and
back. Some sped round the combined 7 mile route.
Meantime, Danesh, Miles, Tom and Alister, Brock's
Chocs were immaculate as ever, busy selling their much
extended range of delicious home made chocs outside the Spar.
They raised a terrific £62 which will help 15 distressed kids get
help from
Childline.
They will continue their efforts on The Green at The
Village Fair. Please support them.
Thanks very much to all our volunteers and everyone in Brockham
who has supported us during the last 4 years, including of course
The Parish News and readers, Brockham web site, as well as NSPCC
staff who produce the flyers and arrows.
The total raised over the last 4 years is a terrific £4,200.
That's 1,050 very distressed kids who've got much needed help.
Please continue to support the Children's Voice Appeal which is
extending text services which appeal particularly to teenage boys;
often a hard group to reach. Sexual abuse off teenage boys is much
more common than is generally recognised in our society. It
is particularly hard for boys to talk about it and seek help.
They need our ongoing support.
