What a scorcher, in fact the whole Summer was good. We hope the weather will hold for bonfire (2nd November). Unfortunately it was too dry for fireworks at the village Weekend, but November is just around the corner.

We hope you and your friends all enjoyed the Picnic, Live Bands, Brian's Musical Entertainment and of course Rueben Bond's Victorian Fun Fair. Congratulations to the winner of the 'Posh Picnic' judged by Kath Harman. The prize, courtesy of Cllr John Muggeridge, was a voucher for the Dorking Halls.

The Collection on Saturday night raised a fantastic £1186.58. This, together with Rueben Bond's Fun Fair contribution, will enable us to run the event again next year - date to be confirmed in the new year. We are very keen to keep this a 'Brockham & Strood Green Event Only', any suggestions please?

We hope the Royal Oak, Grumpy Mole and Brockham Village Hall Club have recovered from all the hard work; it is good to see everyone working so well together.

"Georgie's Pooches on Parade" was doubly good this year and will certainly be repeated again next year. A donation of £300 has been made to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. The Duck Race proved very successful again and will hopefully be repeated next year - dogs and ducks blended well together!!

A huge thank you to the Mother and Toddler group for volunteering to organise the celebratory "Babygro Washing Line". It was a shame that we were unable to attempt a world record but it turned out that we would have had to go from Brockham to Brighton; it was felt that Strood Green would have been as far as we could manage! Thanks to the Bonfire Boys for preparing the Beacon and Dylan Johnstone for his swift actions when the Royal Birth was announced (he beat Miles Cresswell by 30 seconds).

The Committee would like to thank everyone: - Brockham Bonfire, Brockham Parish Council, The Royal Oak, The Grumpy Mole, J & J Franks, Chitty's the Butchers, The Spar Shop, The Shop at Strood Green, Brockham Village Hall Club, Harlequin Creative Ltd, Netherne Print and Mole Valley District Council; Our Sponsors (all from within the village), and a special thank you to the youngsters of the village who once again helped us with the setting up and running of the event. All the Stall Holders and Residents of the Village Green, exhibitors and sponsors of the Dog Show and of course You and Your Families and Friends - who proved that Brockham Green was the place to be! We, as a committee, really enjoy hosting this event and we know you all enjoy coming to it.

So now it is fully steam ahead for Brockham Bonfire, feel free to come and join in - get involved please.

Enjoy the Bonfire and Happy Christmas to you all!
