Presentation to BERT by Lord Lieutenant On an extremely hot July Sunday afternoon in July the Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey Mr Michael More-Molyneaux, the chairman of Mole Valley District Council Mr Raj Haque ,the Vice Lord Lord-Lieutenant Mr Bill Biddell, Deputy Lord-Lieutenants Lady Corinna Hamilton, Lady Louise O’Connor and Mr Paul Ryder came to Brockham Green to present to Brockham Emergency Response Team the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Our soloist on Wednesday came via a recommendation from regular house bassist Mike Bennett. Like many jazz musicians, Mike plays with a handful of different bands in various styles from trad, swing, latin and contemporary and knew of Lester through one his many ensembles.

Charles Church has submitted an application to build 30 homes on the land at Tanners Meadow. This has been debated at Brockham Parish council level and rejected. The next step is presentation to Mole Valley District Council at the July planning meeting. Residents have only until Monday 18th June to make their feelings known (whether for or against). The fifth Brockham Open Gardens took place on 24 June and there was a selection of 11 gardens open around the village. The event was well supported with over 400 people travelling from all over Surrey to view the amazing gardens on display. A record breaking figure of nearly £5,000 was raised towards vital work to the fabric of the Church building.
