To fit in with her term-time teaching schedule, Sarah made the long cold journey from Bournemouth to brighten up our first Wednesday of the year at the Royal Oak. She was joined for the second half of the evening by Karl Charity (our guest next month) providing a lively and entertaining mix firstly of Sarah's vocals, saxophone and flute and later on augmented by Karl's vocals, trumpet and flugelhorn. The intimate setting of the venue allowed for plenty of interaction with the audience - Jazz at the Oak is not a serious affair where “we play and you listen”, but more of a gathering of friends who meet and enjoy the music together in the comfortable and welcoming setting of the Royal Oak.
Karl Charity will appear on Wednesday the 7th February at the Oak, assuring us of another convivial evening of great music.
