10 July 2018
For the rest of the house band and the audience, Dorking-resident Lester was a marvellous surprise, playing trumpet and flugelhorn with both soulful mellowness and lively attack. Offering a mix of 4th of July tunes from Ellington, Gershwin, Basie, Kern and Fats Waller, the evening closed on an arrangement of The Lady Is a Tramp. Next month on August 1st, we welcome the return of the popular Sarah Bolter, who bring will bring her saxes, flute and voice all the way from Bournmouth to entertain us. Table reservations are recommended.
