The Brockham Green Horticultural Society has been a part of the community for over 50 years covering the villages of Brockham, Betchworth and Buckland in Surrey. The Society has its own informative website -

It is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and the Surrey Horticultural Federation. The Society is for everyone, regardless of age, experience or size of garden. It is for anyone interested in growing any sort of plant or who enjoy cookery or crafts. Youth Groups and the local schools are encouraged to enter the main show with specialist classes.
Membership subscription is £3 per year, junior members are free. A subscription card is issued which entitles members to discounts at some of the local garden centres and nurseries.
Various events are organised by the Society throughout the year. These include a Members' Social with tea,raffle, sales table, competitions, children's corner etc at the beginning of the gardening year. This year it is to be held on the 27th March and will include demonstrations on:

During the summer months various members open their gardens. These are held in the evening with light refreshments.
There are talks on gardening topics and the most recent one was on bulbs and corms. It is hoped to have another gardening evening in conjunction with a local garden centre.
The main event of the year is the Summer Show held in conjunction with the Brockham School Fair. This will be held on the 26th June on Brockham Green - see the Schedule page for details of various classes that can be entered. There will also be a plant sale and a display by Brockham Flower Club.
The Society's year ends with the Annual General Meeting and an entertaining garden slide show. This will be held on 10 November in the Recreation Ground Pavilion.
